Ground Zero Memorial Park 9/2011

We visited the Memorial Park in Manhattan, NY on a rainy day witch added to the solemn occasion.  It was very moving for me.  It was also beautiful.  I visited St. Paul's church where much care was given for months, to the rescue workers who needed rest. The park and museum will be completed in 2012 and the new One World Trade Center will be done in 2014.  One floor of the planned 178 floors a week is being completed.  The memorial falls are in the exact footprints of the Twin Towers.  The thousands of names of the lost are engraved along the four sides of each falls of all those that died on 911 and those who died when the Towers were attacked several years ago.

We visited the Harbor View Memorial Park in Bayonne, New Jersey to see the Tear Drop memorial which was a gift from the president of Russia, Vladimir Putin in honor of those who died on 911.  Also at the site is a memorial for the people from this city of Bayonne who died in the Towers.
